FastSearch, which was initially presented at the end of 2023, is a revolutionary technology for searching and calculating travel offers. For the first time at ITB, ISO is presenting FastSearch in conjunction with an extended Internet Booking Engine (IBE), which impressively demonstrates the performance of the solution for travel distribution.
Based on the high computing power of AI infrastructures available today, FastSearch calculates suitable offers for individual search queries in milliseconds. FastSearch is placed as a dynamic cache between the existing booking interface and the reservation system. It ensures that availability and price-checked offers, including children's and group prices, can be displayed within milliseconds, even under highest request volumes.
This eliminates unproductive availability queries and price changes in the end customer's decision-making process in the IBE. In addition, innovative search queries over longer periods and destinations or with individual attributes are possible. For this purpose, FastSearch relies on rule-based data formats such as OTDS.
Thanks to the modern approach of a combined hardware/software solution, the IT costs for caching offers can be massively reduced.
As an active supporter of the Camino Blockchain, ISO presents an innovative check-in demo for car rental companies. ISO also offers its customers the connection to the new Camino Messenger. In addition, ISO will be sharing practical experience from its “From Booking to Boarding” solution for NFT tickets, check-in and luggage tracking, which was developed in collaboration with a Swiss university (www.supsi.ch) and a low-cost airline (moov.aero).
With the new application for car rental providers, the vehicle pick-up process can be massively simplified and accelerated using smart contracts and NFTs. From the identification and validation of the customer's driving license to the opening and starting of the vehicle, the blockchain enables a seamless process that does not require complicated Web3 tools for the end customer.
By connecting travel companies of all kinds to the Camino Messenger, they can sell and buy directly via the entire network. There is no need to set up direct APIs with individual customers and partners and conclude manual contracts. Reduced IT and process costs are complemented by rapid sales of new products and the development of new markets.
ISO Travel Solutions presents Atlantic, a lean dynamic packaging system developed from scratch. This is based on a modern MACH architecture (modular microservices, API-1st, cloud native, headless) and is characterized by its particular flexibility, focus on external interfaces and ease of use.
Atlantic is conceptually designed as an Offer & Order Management System. This enables the dynamic design of personalized offers — regardless of channel, product and time.
The system is aimed at travel providers such as airlines that want to bundle tourism packages from external and internal sources to expand their offering. ISO uses its interface expertise in connecting external systems, such as the airlines' PSS, for this purpose.
But established tour operators also benefit: The reservation system is the heart of their IT and is often a system that has been used for a particularly long time. This results in monolithic systems with enormous complexity. Atlantic is doubly prepared for this: The flexible microservices enable the implementation of individual requirements in existing infrastructures – even within longer-term migration goals. The services can also be developed and expanded independently.
Availability in the cloud enables elastic scaling of IT resources and the functionality is updated automatically without complex release management. The system is “headless” because the user experience is decoupled from the backend, which supports a high degree of design freedom for the UI and the frequently useful connection with other applications.
When applying AI, ISO Travel Solutions does not focus solely on generative text AI, but also on the AI-supported optimization of its customers' central processes. A multifunctional AI platform was set up as a development environment for this purpose.
This enables the efficient creation of customized AI classifiers, which are used, for example, to determine the probability of cancellations or bookings. These classifiers are used for capacity planning and targeted campaigns, for example. The platform is also able to forecast key business figures (such as the development of booking and sales) and carry out helpful “what-if” simulations.
ISO customers can realize their individual requirements and queries for AI-supported forecasting models in an explorative manner within a framework of prototypes. We support our customers from the necessary data generation and analysis, through the selection and fine-tuning of the forecasting models, to meaningful data visualization and automated implementation of the results in key business processes.
The EU's NIS2 Directive, which came into force in 2023, will be transposed into national law in Germany by October 2024. “With NIS2, cyber security and resilience will now also become a top issue for the broad mass of companies.” (PwC Germany). ISO Travel Solutions has reviewed its own systems for the necessary technical, operational and organizational measures and will implement them within the applicable deadline.
NIS2 extends the requirements for cyber security and sanctions to improve the level of security in the EU. It contains strict requirements and covers a large number of organizations that fall within its scope. In the travel industry, airlines and other passenger transport companies as well as providers of digital infrastructure and services (e.g. online marketplaces, data centers, cloud computing) are particularly affected. They are now obliged to take far-reaching measures to manage security risks and minimize the impact of incidents. Penalties for breaches range up to EUR 10 million or 2% of global turnover.
